Savusavu Town, Vanua Levu, Fiji

Looking southwest from Nakama Creek Harbor. Savusavu Town can be seen along the shore, backed by the green palm covered hills of the peninsula, which stretches to the west (right) and forms the southern edge of the greater Savusavu Bay.
Savusavu Town has Customs, Health Practique, and Immigration offices, and yachts arriving in Fiji can clear in here. This is quite convenient for yachts wanting to initially visit the eastern island groups of Fiji, Vanua Levu and Taveuni area, then sail with the prevailing south-east trade winds to visit the western islands, Vanua Levu, Mamanuca and Yasawa groups. The different island groups of Fiji each have their own unique characteristics, and many yachts spend more than one season here to see and enjoy it all. | ||
